it's days like this...

that make me remember why i am so blessed.
my family is the most gracious of hosts,
givers of love,
acceptors of the lost and lonely,
lovers of laughter,
silent admirers of the happiest home.
why do i get to call this family mine?
i don't know why and don't want to question it because
it's mine. who could be so lucky?
me.
dear God,
thanks for the best life.  i couldn't be happier.
it's awesome. the end.
thanks mere

and i get to call this place HOME.
wow
thats all i can say

beautiful fall day

be yourself. don't die a copy.
love the person who saw you when you were invisible.
it is okay to cry.
live the life you have imagined.
be honest with yourself
value who you are right now.
don't focus on negative thoughts
don't delay your fears.
believe in something higher than yourself
hug yourself a bunch
don't compare yourself to others.

thanks for giving me the world

I want to thank everyone who came to my match in San Diego yesterday,

I needed it but I did.
It was a Crenshaw Clan family reunion and not only did it make me
extremely happy but my parents as well.  I love every single
one of my family members they are who made me
who I am today.  Thank you.
And all my dear friends who drove out, I miss you all terribly!
It makes me so excited for Decemeber when
I can spend more time with you guys!
Thank you for the support you guys are a huge part of why
I get up each day and do what I do!
I could not do it without knowing you all are there to support my dreams.
love you, mere

my mom gave me some baby pictures of me and brit,
reminding me of all the scanned photos I own so

when i get frustrated....

I simply take a deep breath and say....

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

And pretend I am here.

That is my place, the ocean,
the sand, my bikini, and my bike.
 Oh summer get here faster,
I need to be reunited with my tribe.
Oh and can't forget my good old freckles!
Miss them the most,
 they are my friends.

living the life

I don't think many people can say that they go to school, play a sport, have an amazing support system and each day think how grateful they are for the life they have.  I am that person.  Just about two years into this thing called college and I am finally feeling like I belong.  I have so much to learn from this place and the people here.

I had the amazing privilege to have Brit come and spend a week with me here at GU.  This was after a great week of discovering what everyday life is like for her.  I loved every minute with her in Greeley.  But after the year I had I just wanted her to see how much I had grown into my life.  And it didn't take long for her to see how much I come alive here.  This is my place and these are my people.

I have so much to prove.  Growing up is and will be the hardest thing I am going through.  As much as it frustrates me it isn't going away.  But instead of fearing it I have decided to face it head on.
Bring it on!

But here is a little update:
Volleyball is great, I was told that I would be challenged in the spring.  Consider challenge conquered!
School is going to get better as soon as I declare my major.  Environmental Studies :)
Yes there is a boy, but that is all I will say.
I have a great best friend here, Hannah and she is amazing.  Can't wait to have her meet my family!
I signed my lease for the house I will be living in next year.  AKA no more cog food!!
But that is all I can think of.

Here are a few quotes from my new favorite book that Grandma Kitty gave me for my trip back from winter break.
"Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are.  When you realize there is nothing lacking, the world belongs to you." -Lao-Tzu philosopher

"LIfe is a bitch.  You've got to go out and kick ass."- Maya Angelou writer

"Success is relative. It is what we can make of the mess we have made of things." -T.S. Eliot writer

"He that lives upon hope, dies farting"- Benjamin Franklin statesman

"The world breaks everyone and afterward many are stronger at the broken places." -Ernest Hemingway  writer

"The important thing is not what they think of me, but what I think of them."- Victoria Queen of England
